Every entry below is work we perform in-house. Labor and materials are quoted per job — we don't publish fixed splice labor rates here. Send rig dimensions, line types, and hardware photos: we'll recommend a build path and provide pricing.

  • Continuous Spinnaker Sheet with Y-Tail

    • Arrangement: For asymmetrical spinnaker sheets.
    • Benefit: Lightweight; full cover on sheets provides better grip for foredeck crew during jibes.
  • Continuous Loop Control Line

    • Arrangement: Double-ended mainsheets and headsail furlers requiring a continuous loop.
    • Benefit: Core has an inline butt splice; seamless operation.
  • Chafe Tip to Fully Covered Line

    • Application: Reduces chafe to halyards at the sheave box when sails are hoisted.
    • Best for: Cruisers who want longer line life.
  • Cover-to-Core Taper

    • Application: Racers — reduces weight of halyards and sheets.
    • Benefit: Cover remains on deck portion only; exposed core at drum reduces weight aloft.
    • Compatible hardware: Organizers, lead cars, rope clutches, winch drums.
  • Pig Snout (Cover Back Splice)

    • Description: "Our favorite way to finish the bitter end of a line."
    • Benefit: Eliminates fraying; durable; clean look without external whipping.
  • 12-Strand Eye Splice

    • Use: Single braid or uncovered cores of high-tech ropes.
    • Benefit: Stronger and less bulky than a bowline, especially on heavily loaded lines.
    • Options: Can include shackle or thimble.
  • Double-Braid Eye Splice

    • Use: Double-braided rope — strength shared by core and cover.
    • Technique: Core-to-cover splice.
    • Use with: Shackle, thimble, becket, or anywhere a bowline would otherwise go.
  • Snake's Belly

    • Technique: Thickens a section of line for better grip on rope clutches and winches.
    • Perfect for: Customers who want lighter high-tech line but don't want to replace clutches for smaller diameter compatibility.
  • High-Tech Eye Splice

    • Strength: Entirely in the core (as with all high-tech ropes).
    • Splice type: Core-to-core; cover remains to protect core and is finished with whipping.
  • High-Tech Eye Splice with Neoprene Boot and Chafe Tip

    • Custom-made boot stretches over shackle.
    • Protects mast from dings; prevents shackle from snagging lifelines.
    • Chafe tip greatly improves durability in wear-prone areas.
  • 12-Strand Eye Splice with Thimble

    • Recommended for: Customers replacing stainless steel lifelines with 12-strand high-tech line.
    • Thimble allows adjustable lashing to tighten lifeline ends.
  • Spliced Dyneema Loop

    • Description: Super-strong, lightweight soft attachment for blocks and other hardware.
    • Alternative to: Steel shackle for many applications.
  • Racing Sheet Taper

    • Description: Exposed core with tapered splice greatly reduces unwanted weight from clew of headsail.
    • Necessary for: Jib and spinnaker sheets on racing programs.
  • Reeving Eye Splice

    • Use: Finishing ends of halyards.
    • Eye allows: Easy attachment of messenger line for re-reeving through mast.
    • Splice type: Cover-only; small and pliable; won't get stuck passing through exit slots and sheave boxes.
